Similar to Point Pleasant on Mathis Ferry Rd, Wakendaw Lakes is a well established conveniently located neighborhood that has lots of mature trees, landscaping, and green space. Many homes back up to the neighborhoods 25 acre lake, the marsh and the tidal Hobcaw Creek. The homes were mostly built in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s so the style reflects that time but there are also some southern style homes with big porches. Throughout the neighborhood there are a mix of brick ranches, wood and vinyl exteriors. There are some smaller homes in the 1,800 sqft range up to some larger 4,000 sqft homes. The advantage of an older neighborhood such as Wakendaw lakes is that the lots tend to be larger.
